Meizu has officially unveiled its Meizu M5 smartphone. The mid-ranger from Meizu hosts acceptable list of specs and a surprisingly low price tag. The Meizu M5 comes with a 5.2-inch HD screen(720 x 1280 pixels) covered up with 2.5D curved glass.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek MT6750 octa-core chipset similar to its m3s. Memory wise, the phone comes in two different configurations — the first one includes a 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, whereas the second one comes with a 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, both expandable via a microSD card.
As far as the camera goes, the phone boasts a 13MP primary camera at the back with Phase Detection Auto Focus(PDAF) with an impressive focus speed of 0.2 seconds, there’s also a dual-LED flash at the back for low-light photography. Up front, for selfies, there’s a 5MP camera.
Made up of polycarbonate body through CNC technology the Meizu M5 comes in five varieties of colors including Mint green, matte black, champagne gold, blue, and white. Interestingly, the matte version comes with a scratch and fingerprint resistant traits, whilst the mint green version has a UV coating which will protect the phone’s color from fading due to sunlight.
Other noticeable feature includes a fingerprint scanner at the front, a 3,070mAh battery inside, and runs on Yun OS on top of Flyme UI. For pricing, the 16GB variant will cost 700 Yuan($105), while the 32GB variant will be priced at 900 Yuan ($139).
