It’s not always that a piece of technology manages to get everyone’s attention to the point that everyone from the tech community all over the world goes crazy. As true as it is, it’s not always that something like the Pocophone F1 is released. And the chances of you going crazy over that crazy value for money Pocophone F1 offers and you being amped up to buy one as soon as it is available in Nepal is damn high.
If you have been waiting to get yourself one, Daraz’s 11.11 Sale is the day when your wait gets over. The 11.11 Sale by Daraz is what brings the Pocophone F1 to the shelf on the 11th of this November at an unbelievable price of Rs. 33,999 after which the price goes up to Rs. 34,999. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s everything about the Pocophone F1 that makes it; worth the hype it gained, worth your hard-earned money and even worth your wait.
Starting off with the brand name Pocophone; it might seem every bit new as possible and the chances of people being skeptical about it are really possible. If you are someone who thinks that the Pocophone is a new brand that came out of nowhere, the fact that the Pocophone is a sub-brand of Xiaomi should bring you relief.
The Pocophone F1 houses a 6.18-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 or FHD+ upfront. This is a notched display and the notch houses the 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture not just that, the notch also houses an earpiece that doubles as a secondary speaker to give you that flagship-like stereo sound. Plus, the presence of a notch means a screen to body ratio of 82.2% on the Pocophone F1. This phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage as a baseline variant and maxes up all the way up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The real showstopper is the core of the Pocophone F1, the processor, which happens to be the latest and greatest offering by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 845. You heard me right, the Pocophone F1 is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with Adreno 630 GPU, which gives it all the power that you’ll need on your smartphone. To address every single need of every smartphone user, the Pocophone F1 has a 4,000mAh battery running the show. And when it comes to gaming, the liquid cooling system has got your back.
All that out of the way, let’s talk optics. At the back, this one houses a 12MP+5MP dual camera setup. The primary camera is a Sony IMX 363 sensor with dual pixel autofocus which should meet your shooting requirements quite well, no matter how the surrounding is. If you’re someone who fears to play around with the settings menu, there’s AI backing you up with AI scene detection, AI portrait, AI beautify, etc. Plus the presence of a dedicated secondary 5MP depth sensor means you can get some great looking portrait shots. Right below that camera, the fingerprint scanner is present. Plus the 20MP sensor up front has support for face unlock.
Moving on to the software, we have MIUI 10 running the show. MIUI is well known for being feature-packed but somewhere down the line, the lack of an app drawer has always been a pain. But with the release of the Pocophone F1, Xiaomi has brought in POCO launcher which adds an app drawer. The Pocophone F1 runs on MIUI 10 built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.
The Pocophone F1 uses USB Type-C for charging and data transfer, not only that, it keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack alive so that you can enjoy listening to your media library over your handy earphones you might already have lying around.
The only downside is that the Pocophone F1 has a polycarbonate or a plastic back. Sure, that’s a bit of a letdown but hey, remember the price (Rs. 33,999) and that’s not that big of a trade-off (at least not for me).
