“A new precedent has been set for the record as – Highest Altitude reached in an electric car. I would like to congratulate Hyundai for having achieved this and setting a new benchmark in the annals of history”, Mr. Rishi Nath, adjudicator of Guinness World Records stated after Hyundai KONA Electric made it to an altitude of 5,731 meters to Sawula Pass in Tibet thereby breaking the previous record of 5,715.28 meters altitude by an electric car, pretty comfortably.
Adding a statement to this, the company says, “Hyundai KONA Electric making to the prestigious Guinness World Records feat is a very proud moment for everyone and remarkable feat for Hyundai. KONA Electric has brought Electric Revolution by demolishing various myths about electric vehicles and is a true expression of Hyundai’s spirit of staying ahead of the curve. Under the Emission Impossible Mission, KONA Electric has proved its mettle in the world’s toughest terrains without compromising its performance.”
Also, this new feat reflects the KONA Electric being a truly reliable Electric Vehicle even in the extreme conditions. Despite harsh weather conditions including low temperature, continuous snowfall, and icy tarmacs, KONA Electric is applauded to perform as a true SUV during the expedition with its Electronic Stability Control (ESC) which is said to maintain its stability in all road conditions. With this, we can say technology and performance hand-in-hand made it a true performer and the first electric vehicle to reach the highest altitude.
The convenient portable chargers were used in order to charge the KONA Electric during the entire drive duration. A standard charger comes along the vehicle, which was used overnight to fully charge the vehicle.
Moreover, no performance issues were said to be found while climbing the peaks. While descending from the peaks, the vehicle used the smart power regeneration system thereby complementing the driving range.
Well, all these certainly epitomize the power and performance as well as pledge of the range and capability of KONA Electric vehicle to outplay in different weather conditions across extreme geographies and demographics.
