The new Apple iPad Air 2022 has officially been announced together with the iPhone SE 2022. This mid-ranger finds its place ideally between the cheaper iPad and the expensive iPad Pro. And it comes with an M1 chip along with 5G support, not to mention eSIM. The base model is a Wi-Fi-only variant though.

The Apple iPad Air 2022 measures 247.6 x 178.5 x 6.1 mm (9.75 x 7.03 x 0.24 in) in dimension and 461 g (Wi-Fi) / 462 g (5G) (1.02 lb) in weight. The front is glass whilst the back and frame are aluminum.
iPad Air 2022 has a 10.9-inch liquid retina IPS LCD display with 2,360 x 1,640 pixels resolution, ~264 ppi density, and ~81.3% screen-to-body ratio. It’s scratch-resistant glass with an oleophobic coating.
Running on iPad OS 15.3, it’s powered by an octa-core M1 chipset to deliver a similar performance as the iPad Pro. Although, you get a lesser RAM, i.e. 8GB alongside 64GB/256GB internal storage.
The camera gets enhancement with a new ultrawide snapper at the front with Center Stage that can pan on its own while in video calls that keep users in view as they move around as well as observes when others join in, hence zooming out seamlessly for inclusion.
Similarly, the back sees an f/1.8 12MP wide shooter with dual-pixel PDAF and HDR. It’s capable of recording 4K videos at 24/25/30/60fps and 1080p videos at 25/30/60/120/240fps.
For connectivity, the new iPad Air has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C 3.1 Gen2. And the sensors incorporated are a top-mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyro, compass, and barometer.
A non-removable Li-Ion 28.6Wh battery keeps the lights on.

The Apple iPad Air 2022 is priced at $599 (~NPR 89,999) for the 8GB/64GB variant. With pre-orders already commenced last Friday in 29 countries and regions, it’s set to release on 18 March 2022. Similarly, the Wi-Fi+5G variant costs $749 (~NPR 1,19,999).
Furthermore, the new iPad Air provides support for the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard, Smart Folio covers, as well as Smart Keyboard Folio.
