The new third-generation iPhone SE 2022 has finally arrived. The 2nd generation was launched two years back. Talking about the new iteration, it looks a lot like the iPhone 6 from the year 2014, however, gets much better internals. As we are already into internals, let’s not miss the Apple A15 chipset, which is the same SoC that is being used in the iPhone 13 line.
Here we will take a brief look at the 3rd Gen iPhone SE followed by its price and availability.
iPhone SE (2022)
The new 3rd Gen iPhone SE 2022 comes with a 4.7-inch Retina IPS LCD display with 1,334 x 750 pixels resolution, 625 nits brightness, ~65.4% screen-to-body ratio, and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The display uses Ion-strengthened glass and oleophobic coating for protection. Furthermore, it supports a wide color gamut and true-tone.
Running on iOS 15.3, it is powered by an Apple A15 Bionic chipset based on 5nm fabrication. Paired with it is an Apple GPU with 4-core graphics.
The available memory configurations are 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB onboard storage.
Let’s start with the Apple A15 chipset, the same chipset as on the iPhone 13 series and the fastest smartphone chip around. Storage options have remained the same – 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
As for the optics, there is a single f/1.8 12MP wide snapper with PDAF and OIS complemented with a quad-LED dual-tone flash, HDR, and panorama. The rear module can capture 4K videos at 24/30/60fps and 1080p videos at 30/60/120/240fps.
Coming to the front, there is a single f/2.2 7MP sensor with HDR. It’s capable of recording 1080p videos at 30/120fps. There is also support for gyro-EIS.
For connectivity, iPhone SE 2022 has a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, proximity, gyro, compass, and barometer.
A non-removable Li-Ion battery with 18W fast charging keeps the lights on. It’s advertised to charge the cell from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes. And there is Qi wireless charging support too.

iPhone SE 2022 Price and Availability
The 3rd Gen iPhone SE 2022 is already up for pre-order as of 11 March at $429 for the lowest variant. Similarly, the shipment is slated to commence on 18 March in 30 countries in the first batch that includes Canada, France, China, Australia, Japan, the UK, the US, Germany, and India.
Though Apple iPhone SE 2022 is yet to be announced in Nepal, it could be priced around NPR 65,000.
