Xiaomi is coming up with its Redmi K30 device in 2020. Lu Weibing, Redmi’s General Manager, through a Weibo post, recently crushed the rumors regarding the December launch of K30.
The post focuses on China Mobile’s 4G hotspot tests. And a number of Xiaomi phones got recognized for being the fastest in the test. However, it doesn’t specifically speak about the launch of Redmi K30.
The Xiaomi executive says, “Redmi is a 5G pioneer in the year 2020. Wait for the K30.” Similarly, this is the very first-time, Xiaomi has affirmed a launch timeline for the Redmi K30.
Talking about the device, the Redmi K30 will feature 5G connectivity. And it’ll carry a pill-shaped hole-punch on the display housing dual front cameras.
CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun recently spoke about bringing affordable Xiaomi phones with 5G support. He stated that all Xiaomi phones to be released in the first half of 2020 for a price tag of $285 or above will offer 5G connectivity.
Therefore, like the K20 series, also known as Mi 9T in western markets, if the Redmi K30 gets the same June release timeline, it’s one of the phones Jun is talking about. But again, it’s more likely to make its way to the market prior to June 2020.
Xiaomi also teased the Redmi K30 to be a mid-ranger 5G phone with not so expensive price tag but it won’t be affordable either.
