The Redmi 8A‘s iterative upgrade, the Redmi 8A Dual, is here in Nepal with dual-camera, which was lacking from its predecessor.
The back of the Redmi 8A Dual comes with a 13MP primary camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. At the front, the phone has an 8MP selfie camera put inside a teardrop notch.
Besides an additional sensor, the back of the phone also gets the Aura XGrip design for a better grip while handling. However, for those clumsy hands, the phone provides a P2i coating for protection against occasional water splashes. Coming back to the front, it’s built around a 6.22-inch HD+ LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Protecting the screen is a layer of Gorilla Glass 5.
Another impressive feature of this phone is a 5,000mAh battery inside which can be charged through 18W fast charger carried over a USB-C port. However, you’ll get a 10W charger out of the box, whilst the former one is sold separately. You can also make full use of the monstrous battery with the Redmi 8A Dual’s reverse charging feature; allowing the phone to be used as a powerbank.
Powering the phone, inside, is a Snapdragon 439 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which is expandable via microSD card up to 512GB.
The Redmi 8A Dual supports no fingerprint scanner, but there’s alternative in FaceAI Unlock, plus you get wireless FM Radio, and VoWiFI support.
As for the pricing and availability, the Redmi 8A Dual price in Nepal is Rs. 12,999. The phone can be purchased across offline as well as online stores, including Daraz and SastoDeal, in three color variants: Midnight Grey, Sea Blue, and Sky White.
