Xiaomi has announced a new Redmi Note 9 series in China. This includes Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi Note 9 5G, and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G.
While the Redmi Note 9 4G share plenty of specifications with the Poco M3, the Redmi Note 9 5G brings in MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G chipset and a 2160p 48MP main camera, and the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G comes with SD 750G 5G chipset and Samsung’s third 1/1.52” ISOCELL HM2 108MP camera sensor.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 4G
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 4G comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, which lies underneath Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
At the helm is an 11nm based Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor powering the device coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage expandable via microSDXC card.
As for cameras, Note 9 4G has a triple camera array at the back comprising 48MP wide, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP depth sensors while a single 8MP camera at the front for selfies.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 with A2DP, GPS, Infrared port, USB Type-C 2.0, FM radio, and hence 3.5mm jack. And the sensors include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, proximity, and compass.
The device carries a 6,000mAh cell with 18W fast charging and 2.5W reverse charging.
The Redmi Note 9 4G is priced starting at CNY 1,000 (~NPR 17,900) for the 4GB/128GB variant and the 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB costs CNY 1,100 (~NPR 19,700) and CNY 1,300 (~NPR 23,300) respectively. It’s available in Gray, Green, Blue, and Orange colors.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 5G
Alike the 4G model, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 5G has the same display, however, it comes with 450 nits brightness while lying underneath newer Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The device is powered on a 7nm based MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage expandable via microSDXC card. It runs on MIUI 12 skin atop Android 10 OS.
The 5G variant sports a triple camera setup at the back as well including 48MP wide, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro sensors with a single 13MP selfie unit.
For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, infrared port, USB Type-C 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Similarly, it carries a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support that keeps its lights on.
The Redmi Note 9 5G is priced at CNY 1,300 (~NPR 23,300) for 6GB/128GB, CNY 1,500 (~NPR 26,900) for 8GB/256, and CNY 1,700 (~NPR 30,500) for 8GB/256GB memory variant. It comes in Gray, Green, and Violet colors.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G
The new Note 9 Pro 5G has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD 120Hz display with HDR10, 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, and a 20:9 aspect ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.
The device, at the core, carries an 8nm based Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 expandable via microSDXC that uses a shared SIM slot. And it runs on MIUI 12 skin atop Android 10 OS.
The Note 9 Pro 5G comes with a quad-camera setup at the back — 108MP wide, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensors and a single 16MP selfie shooter with HDR and panorama at the front.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1 with A2DP and LE, GPS, NFC, infrared port, USB Type-C 2.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The handset has a 4,820mAh cell with 33W fast charging support that is advertised to charge up to 100% in around 58 minutes.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is priced starting at CNY 1,600 (~ NPR 28,700) for 6GB/128GB, CNY 1,800 (~NPR 32,300) for 8GB/128GB, and CNY 2,000 (~NPR 35,900) for 8GB/256GB model. It comes in Gray, Blue, and Red/Mint colors.
