First TCL, then Oppo, and now Xiaomi is in the race to introduce the new rollable display technology. LetsGoDigital has revealed a few renders that are based on last year’s patent from Xiaomi filled with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office).
The patent displays a retractable display technology that expands sideways which then forms a tablet.
Concept creator Jermaine Smit has come up with renders (shown above) based on the patent that best reflects the output device. The renders show a wraparound screen much similar to what was seen in the Mi Mix Alpha concept phone.
However, it’s hard to tell if any Xiaomi device(s) in the future will eventually follow the renders or not.
